Team Europe has won the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in New York, holding off a fierce late charge from the United States to secure victory on American soil. The result was sealed on Sunday after crucial half-points from Shane Lowry and Tyrrell Hatton pushed Europe past the winning threshold. Final reports put the margin at 15–13.
From the opening session, Europe set the tone. Tommy partnered with Rory McIlroy in Friday foursomes to help deliver a 3–1 start, a platform that proved vital when the pressure rose on Sunday.
Following the matches, Tommy was honoured with the Nicklaus-Jacklin Award presented by Aon, recognising the player who best embodies sportsmanship, teamwork and sound decision-making under pressure. It is a proud moment for our whole team, and a reflection of the way Tommy competed all week and supported his teammates throughout.
It was a dramatic final day. The Americans mounted a powerful singles fightback, but Europe answered the challenge when it mattered most. Lowry’s halve against Russell Henley ensured Europe would retain the Cup, before Hatton secured the half-point that guaranteed an outright win.
Winning away is never easy. Doing it at Bethpage, in front of a passionate New York crowd, makes this even more special. The unity inside the European locker room, the quality of the golf across all three days, and the calm decision-making in big moments carried us over the line.
We are incredibly grateful for the support from fans, partners and everyone who followed the journey. Congratulations to Luke Donald, the full European team and support staff on an unforgettable week. And from all of us around Tommy, thank you for sharing it with us.
